2015年1月，由上海师范大学世界电影研究中心策划主办的“周洪波作品展”将展映周洪波2003-2013十年间创作的6部导演作品，其中2部长片为故事影片，4部60分钟以下的短片为纪录片。
作为故事片导演硕士毕业生，周洪波的创作却从纪录片起步，尽管这可能与他的职业有一定关联，但其影片中审慎的叙事、敏感的运镜、讲究的场面调度和极端克制的剪辑表达，都似乎只关乎某种对命运的诗意关怀，而超越了不同片种的界定。
他的影片常常被归为诗意的，但那并非抒情或感怀层面的诗意，而是对人群中多个个体在时间、个人命运和城市变迁中的那些不经意或紧要处的捕捉，无论是《三个毕业的少年》、《董家渡》中的群像、《天目》的因各种关系而交织在一起的四个人，还是《冬蝉》里在上海与天目山之间行进的主人公，又或者是《野草莓》、《李庄的梵高》和《白舞裙》中展示的现实与理想的悖论，都让观众由对个体命运的关心提升至注视一群人、一个街区和一座城市的走向，这是一种抽象化的诗意表达，有着哲思的内敛和爱。
“周洪波作品展”意在展示属于电影的作者性一面，摄影机为笔，胶片即墨水，纪实和虚构都是为了严肃地寻找某种真实，而这种真实则是思想的缘起或产物。
周洪波
1971年出生于江苏省。1999 年毕业于北京电影学院导演系后，他便一直在上海电视台工作。在这十五年中，他先后拍摄了十几部纪录片和两部故事片。他的作品聚焦于中国城市化的转变，不仅只针对物质转变，也探讨当代中国人的精神变化。比起现代化的嘈杂，他更注意于那些迷失的纯真。经过多年在纪录片创作的实践中，对于什么是真实？如何塑造真实？很明显地，纪录片不能满足他的激情和思考。他十分渴望能够从哲学高度而不仅仅是方法论的层面探索一些新的东西。

董家渡是在城市化进程中业已消失的一处上海老式居民区。影片在它消失前捕捉了这片土地上普通上海居民的日常生活百态。街道小厂的劳工，报亭里卖报的小伙，养鸡的大妈，教堂里祈祷的信众，绣金凤凰的女工，以及轮渡码头上来来往往的众生。镜头展现的是生活的断简残篇，却汇聚而成我们时代的浮世绘。
Lotus Ferry is a relatively small and busy district of Shanghai. With its agile and probing photography, this documentary explores this all-Chinese quarter, which essentially does not differ a great deal from similar neighborhoods in other countries. The local merchants try to keep afloat, displaying their goods in the street. The locals cook, keep an eye on their children and chat. The sounds of the city blend into a lively whole. People react to the camera, but remain anonymous. Here and there, the camera lingers on a given individual. We meet a fruit seller, a woman who runs a hair salon with her deaf brother and an old man who has a surprisingly firm grasp of English. They do not know each other, even though they might just run into one another in the Catholic church, the small theatre or on the street. Director Zhou Hongbo presents Lotus Ferry as a beehive full of unremitting bustle, thus singing of small, everyday worries and pleasures.

天目山脚下一个竹林掩映中的小村即将举行村长换届选举。保守的父亲不希望儿子吴爱国掺合这样的事情。儿子固执己见想放手一博。围绕着选举的平常日子似乎多了些什么，又似乎没有什么不同。小吴选举失败了。决定送儿子去城里读书。三代同堂的家庭即将分离，山里的野草莓成熟了，奶奶带着孙子摘下野草莓，踏上离家的路。
At the foot of the Tianmu Mountain, there is a small village where people are going to hold the village chief election. It is a new thing in contemporary Chinese political life. Wu decides to run for the chief but is against by his father. The usually serene life is broken by the affair. The documentary focuses on Wu’s daily ordinary life and touches the pulse of the era through the fate of the Wu family.

Artist Hongming comes from a small village of Anhui province. He thinks he is successful enough to go back home to visit his parents and relatives. Accompanied by the film group, he revisits his home village. Through interviewing his relatives and his personal recall, we gradually approach his abused childhood and the secret buried in his marriage life. Hongming believes his passion for the art coming from the rebellion to his family and constant chasing for fresh love.
